Boba G3 Review
The Skinny
Our Analysis and Test Results
We found the Boba G3 to be super stylish, easy to use and pretty comfy for all involved. It's similar in design to the soft-structured classic, ERGObaby Original, and our highest scorer, the Beco Baby Gemini. Between the three, here's a few key things we found that influenced scoring: one reason we liked Boba better than ERGO was that it accommodates an infant with a snap adjustment rather than a bulky insert. But, the Boba was bested by the Beco Baby Gemini because the Boba doesn't offer a front carry facing out position and we just felt it was a little more cumbersome overall.

The Boba G3 is a well constructed carrier with 2 baby wearing positions: front carry facing in and back carry. The Boba G3 offers a close, secure hold for baby in the front carry facing in position. We also liked the Boba for carrying a toddler on our backs, although we felt it was tricky getting a baby on the back solo. The Boba G3 includes a great new concept in the fact that it has little "stirrups" hanging off the waist strap for your toddler to rest their feet in when in a back carry. We didn't use these all the time but still like having the option.
We love that you can adjust it to fit a young infant more securely simply by folding and snapping the front panel down on itself. We much prefer this approach to the bulky inserts the ERGObaby requires!
The chest clip can slide up or down to adjust for comfort.
This is a sturdy carrier that we feel supported our babies and toddlers well, offering a nice, deep seat for them. It made light work out of a 25 pound toddler and that's no easy task!Dislikes
The Boba G3 doesn't offer the coveted front carry facing out position. We think this could be a very simple addition that would have moved this carrier up in our ratings…hint, hint.
The chest clip can be very hard to reach and buckle when on your back.
The sleep hood on this carrier seemed a lot more stiff and bulky and harder to store away compared to some of the others we used.
Conclusion
This is a very good quality carrier that will take you from newborn to toddler with ease. We really miss that front carry facing out option though. The Boba scored very highly in our tests, with only 3 carriers of 16 scoring higher.
