Konrad Szymanski

Konrad Szymanski was born in Poland and moved to The Netherlands, where he currently lives and works as a performer and creator in the field of contemporary dance theatre, performance art and photography. In 2006 he graduated from the Economics Faculty of the University of Lodz (PL) and one year later he graduated from Rotterdam Dance Academy (NL) with specialization dance. Collaborating with artists in the Netherlands and Poland, he develops his interest in improvisation, which has became a language for his artistic work. Beside his composition performance on stage ('When HERE is NOW', 2009) and in public spaces (together with a drummer Wieland Moeller), he also creates live installations ('Live Box' – movement sound and photography, 2008) and dance productions ('SOLO.06' – scholarship for residential choreography programme Solo Project Kulczyk Foundation, 2007). Konrad also works as a freelance photographer, dancer and art manager.
