Tula Ring Sling Review
The Skinny
Our Analysis and Test Results
Ula and Mike, a married couple from very different backgrounds, created Tula when they struggled to find the best carrier to wear their babies. With extensive world travel on their resumes, the couple found inspiration from the women they observed working in the fields while wearing their babies in colorful wraps. Wanting something similar, they created a carrier of their own and soon received a lot of interest from potential buyers. Thanks to an impressive demand for their carriers, they started the Tula business.
Performance Comparison
This chart is a comparison of the overall scores for the carriers we tested in this review and how they compare to the Tula Ring Sling.
The sections below include information on how the Tula performed in each metric tests compared to the competition. The individual metric scores were used to calculate the overall scores with an emphasis on comfort for both parents and little ones.
Baby's Comfort
The Tula earned an 8 of 10 for baby's comfort. The Ring Sling has soft skin-friendly fabric that is comfortable for the wearer and the baby.
The Ring Sling creates a hammock style seat for little ones that can accommodate infants of different sizes creating a secure and snug carrier that can still have freedom of movement. The fabric allows baby's back to round naturally and the extra material can be used to extend the seating area or to cover little legs and feet. Little testers liked this carrier because of the freedom of movement and feeling of security with additional movement.
Parent's Comfort
The Tula earned an 8 of 10 for parent comfort.
The Ring Sling has a broad swath of fabric that extends over the wearer's shoulder helping to evenly distribute the burden of baby's weight over a larger area. The material is soft, much softer than the similar Maya Wrap ComfortFit Sling, and it adjusts for comfort by pulling baby closer or by shifting the fabric up or down on your shoulder.
Ease of Use
The Tula earned a 10 of 10 for ease of use. No other carrier is as easy to use as the Ring Sling.
This carrier is easy to use right out of the box with only one component and intuitive design. The fabric is easy to thread and can adjust on the go for parent or baby's comfort. The Ring Sling goes over your head and one shoulder and can be put on without holding your baby. Little ones slide into place, and the fabric tightens or loosens for a secure fit. The manual is good with simple pictures and descriptions.
Ease of Cleaning
The Tula earned a 9 of 10 for ease of cleaning. A score of nine is the highest for any carrier in this review.
The Tula is machine washable on cold and can be tossed in the dryer on low. Tumble drying is a huge advantage over hanging to dry as there is less downtime when you can't use the carrier. We also like that the Ring Sling is easy to spot clean should little ones have any accidents on their adventures. The fabric wipes clean and dries quickly.
